Dr. John B. Patrick House

The Dr. John B. Patrick House, located on Sullivan's Island in South Carolina, is a historic residence built around 1870. This 2+1⁄2-story frame house features a distinctive wraparound piazza and an expansive hipped roof. Originally the home of Dr. John B. Patrick and his family, the house transitioned into a tavern and brothel after being sold in the early 1900s. It underwent several renovations over the years, including a conversion into residential units in the 1920s. After surviving Hurricane Hugo in 1989, the house was restored and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1995, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in local history and architecture.
