Humber Rescue

Humber Rescue is an independent search and rescue service located in Hessle, East Riding of Yorkshire, England, established in 1989 and operational since April 1990. Situated near the iconic Humber Bridge, it operates a 9 m SAR rigid inflatable boat and a smaller inshore lifeboat, responding to an average of 110 calls per year. The service covers a vast area of the Humber estuary and its tributaries, making it one of the busiest independent rescue services in the UK. Founded by Paul Berriff, a notable documentary filmmaker and rescuer, Humber Rescue has a rich history of lifesaving operations and community service, recognized with various awards including the Queen's Award for Voluntary Service.
