Dey's Arena

Dey's Arena, a historic series of ice rinks in Ottawa, Ontario, played a pivotal role in the early development of ice hockey in Canada. Home to the Ottawa Hockey Club from the 1890s until 1923, it hosted significant events including the first Stanley Cup win by the club in 1903 and the legendary 'Greatest Hockey Game in History' in 1906. The first rink opened in 1884, followed by Dey's Skating Rink in 1896, which was one of the largest indoor rinks at the time. The final arena, built in 1907, was Canada's largest and hosted numerous hockey matches until its closure in 1923. Today, a commemorative plaque marks the site, celebrating its rich legacy in Canadian sports history.
