Riviera Hotel and Casino (implosion site)

The Riviera opened on the Las Vegas Strip in 1955 and operated for sixty years before closing on May 4, 2015. Its main structures were demolished by implosion on May 9, 2016, an event covered widely in local and national media. The former Riviera site at the north end of the central Strip has since been the subject of redevelopment proposals.
