Tobruk Memorial Baths

The Tobruk Memorial Baths, located on The Strand in Townsville, Queensland, is a heritage-listed complex of outdoor swimming pools built between 1941 and 1950 as a memorial to Australian servicemen from the Siege of Tobruk during World War II. Featuring a 50-metre Olympic-size pool, a heated 25-metre pool for children, and a toddlers' pool, the baths are designed in a vibrant blue-and-white art deco style. This historic site not only serves as a recreational facility but also commemorates the bravery of those who fought in one of Australia's most significant military campaigns.
