Lakihegy Tower

The Lakihegy Tower, standing at 314 meters (1,030 feet), is a historical radio mast located in Szigetszentmiklós-Lakihegy, Hungary. Constructed in 1933, it was one of Europe's tallest structures and was designed to provide nationwide broadcast coverage with a powerful 120 kW transmitter. Although it was destroyed during World War II, it was rebuilt in 1946 and later upgraded to accommodate a 300 kW transmitter. In 1977, it was replaced by a new transmitter but was saved from demolition in 1981 and is now a protected industrial monument. Currently, it is used for power-distribution control data transmission. The tower is a notable example of early 20th-century engineering and remains a significant landmark in Hungary.
