Boston City Hall (Brutalist civic architecture)

Boston City Hall, designed by Kallmann McKinnell & Knowles and completed in the late 1960s, is a widely cited example of Brutalist civic architecture in the United States. The building's exposed concrete masses, recessed window bands, and pronounced cantilevers express the building's program and structural logic. It occupies Government Center and houses Boston's municipal offices and chief executive functions.
