William Wells House

The William Wells House, also known as the 'Stone House' or 'Stonehurst,' is a historic 2-story sandstone residence located in Tyler City, West Virginia. Built between 1801 and 1804, it is recognized as the oldest house in Tyler County and features a distinctive large interior chimney. A Victorian-style addition was added around 1895. The property also includes a family burial ground with the grave marker of William Wells. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1987, making it a significant site for both tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture and history.
