Marketgate, Bristol

Marketgate, originally known as Mercury House, is a striking 16-storey residential high-rise located in the Old Market area of Bristol, England. Built between 1968 and 1970, it initially served as an office for the Post Office and later as a British Telecom administrative center. Redeveloped in the early 2000s, it now provides accommodation for over 500 students from the University of the West of England. Standing at 53 meters tall, Marketgate is one of Bristol's tallest post-war buildings, featuring modernist architecture with a distinctive pink aggregate facade.
