Denver Zoo - Founded 1896 and Toyota Elephant Passage

The Denver Zoo was founded in 1896 and is located in City Park. In 2012 the zoo opened Toyota Elephant Passage, a multi-acre, approximately $50 million exhibit built to provide expanded habitats for Asian elephants, sloth bears, Malayan tapirs and other species. The zoo operates year-round and participates in conservation and species survival programs.
