Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum

The Memphis Rock 'n' Soul Museum opened in 2000 and was produced in partnership with the Smithsonian Institution to tell the story of musical pioneers who created rock and soul music in Memphis. Located on Beale Street, the museum displays artifacts, recordings, and interviews documenting artists and industry figures such as B.B. King, Howlin' Wolf, and early Stax and Sun Records musicians. Exhibits trace the musical roots from rural traditions through the city’s recording industry and into popular culture.
