Elwin Chase House

The Elwin Chase House, located in Topsham, Vermont, is a historic Greek Revival home built around 1830. It is notable for its well-preserved architecture and as one of the few sites in Vermont featuring artwork by the itinerant muralist Rufus Porter. The house showcases a distinctive façade with a gabled roof, pilasters, and a fanlight, while its interior boasts murals attributed to Porter, making it a unique attraction for tourists and researchers interested in early 19th-century art and architecture. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1977.
