Walcott-Whitney House

The Walcott-Whitney House, located in Stow, Massachusetts, is a remarkable example of late First Period architecture, built around 1720-1730. This historic timber-frame house features a distinctive saltbox profile with a side gable roof and clapboard siding. Its asymmetrical front facade is highlighted by a centrally located entrance adorned with Federal period details, including sidelights and pilasters. Notably, the house boasts a well-preserved front staircase, making it a significant attraction for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture. The house was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1990.
