Westpac Bank Building, Fremantle

The Westpac Bank Building, located at 22 High Street in Fremantle, Western Australia, is a heritage-listed structure renowned for its Federation Academic Classical architecture. Designed by architect Talbot Hobbs, construction began in 1892, and it opened in January 1893 as the Western Australian Bank. The building features intricate design elements such as Corinthian columns, stucco arched sash windows, and a prominent pediment. Over the years, it has undergone several name changes, reflecting its history with various banking institutions, including the Bank of New South Wales and Westpac. In 2000, it was acquired by the University of Notre Dame Australia, which now uses it as a health college.
