Cave Spring School and Cave Spring Cemetery

The school, a one-story brick structure with a distinctive steeply pitched gable, was reconstructed in 1875 and features a charming porch added in 1937. The site also includes two stone privies and a cemetery with over 420 marked graves, reflecting the area's history from 1840 to the present. Notably, the school served as the temporary Jasper County Courthouse for a brief period after the Civil War. This site, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012, represents the last remnants of the once-thriving Cave Spring community, making it a significant destination for both tourists and researchers interested in local history.
