Phoenix Indian School (Steele Indian School Park) Historic Remnants

Steele Indian School Park occupies the former campus of the Phoenix Indian School, established in 1891; elements of the historic campus survive or have been documented, and the Phoenix Indian School Historic District is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Surviving features include the Superintendent's House and foundations and landscape elements that recall the school’s layout. The park includes interpretive signage and preserves the site’s historic footprint while serving as public open space.
