National Archives Building (holding foundational documents)
By Seeker
The National Archives Building, completed in 1935 in the Neoclassical style, houses the original Declaration of Independence, Constitution, and Bill of Rights in its Rotunda. Its limestone façade and monumental columns exemplify federally commissioned classical architecture of the early 20th century. The building's Rotunda and exhibition galleries are public spaces that preserve both the documents and an architectural statement about civic permanence.
