Young Women's Christian Association Building (Nashville, Tennessee)

The Young Women's Christian Association Building, also known as the Jacques-Miller Office Building, is a historic site located in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. Completed in 1911 and designed in the Georgian Revival style, this six-story building features a striking cast-iron staircase and was originally home to the Nashville chapter of the YWCA, which provided boarding, a gymnasium, and a job center for women. Notably, it housed the Ophelia Clifton Atchison Memorial Library and served as a meeting place for the United Daughters of the Confederacy from 1917 to 1927. The building was repurposed as an office space in 1982 and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it an interesting stop for tourists and researchers interested in Nashville's architectural and social history.
