Shelton-Lockeby House

The Shelton-Lockeby House is a well-preserved historic dogtrot house located in rural Pike County, Arkansas, built in 1905 by Jim Lockeby. Situated about 6 miles west of Murfreesboro, this unique structure has remained largely unchanged over the years, featuring electricity but no running water, with the only significant modification being the addition of kitchen cabinets. Surrounded by 47 acres of land, it was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2005, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in early 20th-century architecture and rural life.
