Michael Foley Cottage

The Michael Foley Cottage, located at 14 Emerson Street in Stoneham, Massachusetts, is a well-preserved example of a worker's cottage built around 1855. This historic house was home to Michael Foley, a shoemaker who likely worked at the nearby Tidd shoe factory, until the 1870s. The cottage features a two-story wood-frame structure with a front-gable roof, clapboard siding, and a granite foundation. Its front facade showcases three narrow bays on the first floor and two on the second, with a simple entrance. The cottage was recognized for its historical significance and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1984, making it an interesting site for tourists and researchers alike.
