549 Lordship Lane

549 Lordship Lane, known as the Concrete House, is a unique Gothic Revival building located in East Dulwich, Southwark, London. Constructed in 1873, it is one of the earliest examples of a modern domestic dwelling made from concrete, designed possibly by Charles Barry Jr. The house features an L-shape plan with distinctive pointed arched windows and a steeply pitched slate roof. Despite suffering damage during World War II and facing various threats of demolition, it was restored and converted into five flats in 2013, earning several conservation awards. The building is now a grade II listed structure, celebrated for its architectural significance and historical value.
