Levi Hexter House

The Levi Hexter House, built between 1892 and 1893, is a historic residence located in southwest Portland, Oregon, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This charming house was constructed by Levi Hexter, a notable Jewish businessman who co-founded a local hardware store. The house has a rich history, having served as a family home for the Hexter family and later as a boarding house after the death of Levi's wife, Laura. There are intriguing tales of the house being involved in bootlegging during Prohibition. In the 1960s, it underwent a significant restoration led by landscape architect Robert Perron, enhancing its historical significance and beauty within the King's Hill Historic District.
