Stonewall Inn uprising site

The Stonewall Inn at 53 Christopher Street was the site of the June 1969 riots that catalyzed the modern LGBTQ rights movement in the United States. The Stonewall Inn was later designated a National Historic Landmark and the surrounding area was established as the Stonewall National Monument in 2016. The bar remains an active and commemorated historic site in Greenwich Village.
