Boston Latin School - Benjamin Franklin's early schooling

Boston Latin School, founded in 1635, is the oldest public school in America and was attended by Benjamin Franklin during his childhood before he left Boston to begin an apprenticeship in printing. Records and Franklin's own writings note his early schooling in Boston prior to his move to Philadelphia. The present Boston Latin School building is located near the Fenway in Boston's Back Bay/Fenway area.
