Dumbarton Oaks water garden cascades

Dumbarton Oaks Gardens in Georgetown include a terraced water garden with a rill, pools, and small cascades that run through a wooded ravine. The gardens were developed for Robert and Mildred Bliss beginning in the 1920s and were influenced by landscape architect Beatrix Farrand. The cascades and water features are visible along the garden paths and the site is administered by Harvard University, which operates the museum and gardens with public access controls.
