Botanical Building and Lily Pond

The Botanical Building in Balboa Park was built for the 1915–1916 Panama-California Exposition and is one of the largest lath structures in the world. It houses a permanent collection of over 2,100 plants and sits adjacent to the historic reflecting Lily Pond. The structure and plant collections are maintained as historic features of Balboa Park and remain open to the public.
