Founded in 1971, The Kitchen is a long-running New York center for experimental and interdisciplinary arts that has presented video art, performance, music, dance, and new-media work. Originally part of the downtown avant-garde scene, it now operates a Chelsea venue where it commissions and presents emerging and established artists across genres.
