Sherman Nursery Company Historic District

The Sherman Nursery Company Historic District in Charles City, Iowa, is a nationally recognized historic site listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 2014. Established by E. M. Sherman in 1902, the district features a two-story stone building and three stone bridges. By the 1920s, it became the world's largest grower of evergreens, boasting over 50 million plants, and was also renowned for its roses. The nearby Wildwood Park was once part of the nursery until it was sold to the city in 1912, adding to the area's historical significance.
