Curtis-Shipley Farmstead

The Curtis-Shipley Farmstead is a historic home located in Ellicott City, Maryland, on the first land grant in modern Howard County. Established in 1688 by English settler Adam Shipley, the estate features a Gothic Revival house built in 1891, along with various outbuildings including a garage, chicken house, and barns. The property also contains a family cemetery and has undergone several renovations, including the addition of indoor plumbing in 1958. In 2006, it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places, making it a notable site for tourists and researchers interested in Maryland's history.
