Hill's Academy

Hill's Academy, located at 22 Prospect Street in Essex, Connecticut, is a historic school building established in 1832. Originally serving as a secondary school, it played a significant role in education until 1910 and later functioned as a lodge for the Improved Order of Red Men until 1954. The building, a notable example of Greek Revival architecture, features a two-story brick structure with a distinctive belfry and elegant pilasters. Today, it houses the Essex Historical Society, preserving local history and offering insights into the region's educational past.
