Stardust Resort & Casino implosion (2007)

The Stardust Resort and Casino at 3000 S Las Vegas Blvd was demolished by implosion on March 13, 2007, and footage of the demolition was widely distributed online. Clips and GIFs of the implosion have been reused as memes and visual shorthand for change, demolition, and Las Vegas redevelopment. The Stardust site later became the planned Fontainebleau Las Vegas project; archival implosion footage remains common in Strip history retrospectives.
