Crowther Masonic Hall

Crowther Masonic Hall, located in Kollam, India, is a historic monument and a significant site for Freemasonry in the region. Established in 1806, it served as a meeting place for various Masonic Lodges, including the first Lodge in Kerala, 'Travancore Union.' The hall was built by Richard Facey Hunter Crowther and has been a part of the Grand Lodge of India since its inception. Despite facing a threat of demolition in 2009 for a new court complex, local protests preserved this landmark. Today, it remains a point of interest for tourists and researchers exploring the rich history of Freemasonry in ancient Travancore.
