The Whitney Museum - Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney

The Whitney Museum of American Art was founded in 1930 by sculptor and patron Gertrude Vanderbilt Whitney to support and exhibit contemporary American artists. The museum's principal building opened at 99 Gansevoort Street in the Meatpacking District in 2015 and continues the institution Whitney established.
