Lok Bhavan, formerly known as Raj Bhavan, is the official residence of the Governor of Karnataka, located in Bengaluru. Built between 1840 and 1842 by Sir Mark Cubbon, this historic building sits at High Grounds, the highest point in the city. Originally serving as the residence for the British Commissioner during the Mysore Kingdom, it has undergone various transformations over the years. After India's independence in 1947, it became the residence of the Raj Pramukh and later the Governor. The estate features beautiful gardens spanning 16 acres, adorned with century-old trees and an artificial waterfall, making it a picturesque spot for visitors. The building also houses a diverse art collection, reflecting both Indian and Western artistic traditions.
