Northern Hotel (Nevada)

The Northern Hotel, established in 1907 in Ely, Nevada, was a prominent three-story hotel built by notable businessmen including Tex Rickard. Initially intended as a business block, it quickly became a luxurious hotel featuring modern amenities like indoor plumbing and gambling tables, attracting tourists and locals alike. Despite its early success, the hotel faced challenges and closed in 1932 due to declining business, reopening briefly in 1934 and fully in 1937. It remained a significant establishment until it was completely destroyed by fire in 1964. The hotel's rich history reflects the development of Ely and the impact of the mining boom in the region.
