Langmaid Terrace

Langmaid Terrace is a historic apartment complex located in the Winter Hill neighborhood of Somerville, Massachusetts, built in 1891. Designed by architect J. Pickering Putnam, this architecturally eclectic brick building showcases Queen Anne style with its unique roof lines, gables, and towers. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1989. Notably, it served as the residence of Barack Obama from 1988 to 1991 during his time at Harvard Law School, and a granite marker commemorating his residency was established in 2021, creating the President Obama Rose Garden At Winter Hill.
