Ghirardelli Square - historic chocolate complex and shops

Ghirardelli Square occupies the site of the original Ghirardelli chocolate manufacturing complex and was redeveloped into a retail and dining complex in the 1960s. The site includes a flagship Ghirardelli shop and soda fountain popular with residents for sundaes and chocolate gifts. The square's brick buildings and waterfront plaza are a recognized neighborhood gathering place in the Fisherman's Wharf/Marina area.
