First Night Boston (New Year's arts celebration)

First Night Boston is an annual, nonviolent New Year's Eve arts festival founded in 1976 that features music, theater, dance, family programs, and fireworks across downtown Boston. Major performances and public activities have traditionally been centered on City Hall Plaza, drawing local residents and visitors for evening-long cultural programming. It is one of the longest-running First Night celebrations in the United States.
