The Old Deanery, Wells

The Old Deanery, a historic building in Wells, Somerset, dates back to the 12th century and is a Grade I listed structure. It served as the residence for the Dean of Wells Cathedral until 1958 and later became the administrative center for the Diocese of Bath and Wells. The building features a stunning south front with 17th-century sash windows overlooking Cathedral Green. Notably, it was remodeled in the late 15th and 17th centuries, and a herb garden established by Dean William Turner in the 16th century has been recreated.
