Edgemont (Covesville, Virginia)

Edgemont, also known as Cocke Farm, is a historic house located near Covesville in Albemarle County, Virginia. Built around 1796, this Jeffersonian-style home features a distinctive one- to two-story, three-bay frame structure with a hipped roof and four slender chimneys. The property includes a charming rubble stone garden outbuilding and showcases elegant Tuscan columns at its entrance. Restored in 1948 by architect Milton Grigg, Edgemont is recognized for its architectural significance and was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1980, making it an intriguing destination for tourists and researchers interested in early American architecture.
