County Hall, Coventry

County Hall is a historic former courthouse located in Coventry's Cathedral Quarter, designed by Samuel Eglinton in the neo-classical style and completed in 1783. This Grade II* listed building features a striking symmetrical facade with a tetrastyle portico supported by Doric columns. It served as a courthouse for notable trials, including the infamous case of Mary Ball in 1849, who was hanged outside the court. After the courts relocated in 1988, the building was repurposed as a bar in 2000, preserving elements of its judicial past while offering a unique venue for visitors.
