Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1976, the site includes a sophisticated two-story main house built around 1860, an older single-story house from 1855, and a uniquely shaped barn. The property has a rich history, originally acquired by the O'Hair family in the 1850s, and later owned by A.W. Cook, who was notable for being one of the first in Iowa to raise Percheron horses and Shorthorn cattle.
