The Alamo and the 'Victory or Death' letter

During the 1836 Siege of the Alamo, commander William B. Travis wrote the famous 'Victory or Death' letter from the mission compound pleading for reinforcements. Davy Crockett and Jim Bowie were among the known defenders who died at the Alamo during the battle.
