Feraud General Merchandise Store

The Feraud General Merchandise Store, built in 1903 in Ventura, California, is a significant example of turn-of-the-century commercial architecture. Originally operated by Jules Feraud, a French immigrant, the store included a bakery, grocery, and saloon, and remained in the Feraud family until 1944. The building, designated as a historic landmark in 1978 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, now houses Paddy's Bar and Lounge and an Artisan Soap and Bath store, featuring displays honoring local icon Phil Marquez, a barber who served the community for over six decades. Located near the historic Mission San Buenaventura, the site reflects the rich commercial history of the area during the Second Land Boom.
