Michigan Central Station (long-vacant rail terminal)

Michigan Central Station served as Detroit's major passenger rail depot and its adjoining office tower became an architectural icon. The station closed to passengers in 1988 and remained largely vacant for decades, becoming emblematic of Detroit's mid-20th-century decline. In 2018 Ford Motor Company purchased the property and announced plans for rehabilitation and adaptive reuse.
