Toutorsky Mansion

The Toutorsky Mansion, also known as the Brown-Toutorsky House, is a historic five-story residence located in the Dupont Circle neighborhood of Washington, D.C. Built in 1894 for U.S. Supreme Court Justice Henry Billings Brown, the mansion showcases a unique blend of architectural styles, including Flemish Renaissance and Gothic elements. It features intricate tile work, eight fireplaces, and a grand staircase adorned with hand-carved griffins. The mansion has a rich history, having served as a residence for significant historical figures and organizations, including the Persian Legation and the Zionist Organization of America. Since 2012, it has been home to the Embassy of the Republic of the Congo. The mansion is a contributing property to the Sixteenth Street Historic District, ensuring its preservation for future generations.
