Chamber of Commerce Building (Manhattan)

The Chamber of Commerce Building, located at 65 Liberty Street in Manhattan's Financial District, is a historic Beaux-Arts structure designed by architect James Barnes Baker. Completed in 1902, it served as the first dedicated headquarters for the Chamber of Commerce of the State of New York. The building features a striking facade made of Vermont marble, a rusticated base, and a distinctive copper mansard roof. It is recognized as a New York City landmark and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The interior originally housed the Chamber's Great Hall adorned with portraits of notable American figures, while the ground floor has hosted various retail establishments over the years. After a period of vacancy, the building was renovated in the late 20th century and remains a significant architectural and historical site in New York City.
