Schwerkolt Cottage

Schwerkolt Cottage, built around 1880 in Mitcham, Victoria, is a restored pioneer cottage that offers a glimpse into the region's history. Surrounded by 2.25 hectares of gardens and adjacent to Yarran Dheran bushland park, the site features the original stone cottage, replicated outbuildings, and a local history museum curated by the Whitehorse Historical Society. The cottage's unique design includes three interconnected rooms with verandah access and communication holes, reflecting vernacular architecture from the owner's homeland in Prussia.
