Ludwig Buchholz's Tannery, operational from 1845 to 1992, was a significant leather factory located in Bydgoszcz, Poland. Founded by Ludwig Buchholz, the tannery grew from a small workshop to one of the largest leather producers in eastern Prussia, employing up to 250 workers and processing 140,000 skins annually by the late 19th century. The factory was known for its innovative steam-driven machinery and produced goods primarily for the German Empire. After World War II, it was nationalized and later merged into a larger company, Kobra, before ultimately closing in 1992. Today, the site houses the Private University of Economy of Bydgoszcz, preserving the historical villa of Ludwig Buchholz, making it a point of interest for tourists and researchers alike.
