Pink Palace Museum - Clarence Saunders' former mansion

The building now called the Pink Palace Museum was originally constructed in the early 1920s as a private mansion for Clarence Saunders, the founder of Piggly Wiggly. Saunders lost the unfinished residence after his 1923 business collapse and the property eventually became a public museum and planetarium. The Pink Palace houses cultural and natural history exhibits interpreting Memphis and regional history.
